James Brown Think Lp First Pressing Very Rare- Vinyl Near Mint
Here's an incredible copy of JAMES BROWN THINK! His third studio album from 1960. It's a great early James Brown record from 1960 that shows why he got the moniker godfather of soul. His was a dirty, gritty soul that grabbed you by the throat, like an Ike Turner.
Yes, it was radical in 1960, and the market for this music was small. Is one of the rarest of the early James Brown LP's. The record had seven national pop and R&B chart hits. Side 1 plays NM, and side 2 plays a nice VG+. The sound jumps from the table, and even in the record's most distressed places, the sound is crisp and clear and cuts way above any minor imperfections.
The cover is classic, and shows part of his genius. The music is amazing, with The Famous Flames backing Brown beautifully.
The LP cover is in very nice condition, But does have complete seam splits on the top and bottom, and the back cover shows residue of a tape that had been along the top and bottom to seemingly hold the seams together. There are slight corner bumps, and small writing on the back cover. In Ink, someone wrote ACE, with a diamond above the C, and in the upper left in pencil are 2 prices 3.98 and 2.77---The front cover is very nice with a beautiful sheen, a couple little cover bends emanating from the spine. The spine is beautiful, but with no information. A very rare LP to have, and a beautiful cover to boot.
A great opportunity to grab this LP. A total classic rarity that will shine in any collection. Lets face it, people always played James Brown records, and the early one's are already rare simply because of the limited sales, but these early JB LPs, when you can find them at all are mostly beat up. This is an extremely nice example of this LP.
I love original original pressings because I feel every LP is of it's time and place. The vinyl, and record pressings are all from that moment in time, and no re-pressing or re-mastering will ever make the sound better for me. SOME ARE RARE AND COLLECTIBLE, AND OTHERS ARE JUST GREAT ALBUMS LIKE THIS ONE IS.
