Both hoops are brass while the top is chrome over brass the bottom is actually nickel over brass, (painstakingly polished to closely match the chrome luster). It has the early P4066 (pre-base ball bat P4067) knob tone control and the keystone badge making it one of the earliest iconic Ludwig keystone badged drums ever made. Also with the Script LUDWIG butt plate, most transition era drums still used the WFL butt. Bearing edges are original, no alterations, because they are unmolested. Has the original 12 strand SNAPI-WIRES snare.Pioneer throw-off is smooth and reliable. Likewise the knob muffler is smooth. A beautiful classic lovingly restored by a master that drips with character and integrity.
