VERY RARE LOW MINTAGE OF 250 HARD TO FIND LIKE THIS IN MINT STATE MIRROR IMAGE 1982 Proof Prospector Engelhard Large'E' Reverse. Image of Prospector THE AMERICAN PROSPECTOR. ENGELHARD Engelhard Large'E' Logo. ONE TROY OUNCE 999+ FINE SILVER. Proof variety, note the frosted image and font surfaces against mirror finish background in comparison to brilliant uncirculated variety. The 1oz Engelhard Prospectors are the most well recognized of the Engelhard rounds, and were produced from 1982 through 1988. The Engelhard'Large E' logo appeared on the reverse from 1982 through 1984, and the standard'Eagle' logo appeared on the reverse from 1984 through 1987 so there were 2 different designs in 1984. In 1985, Engelhard also created 1/10oz, 1/4oz, and 1/2oz Prospectors. Also included are the more rare proof variety, which we believe were issued in protective plastic capsules.
